Most of you probably know that when it comes to film, Studio Ghibli is my heart and soul. So I’m extremely excited about the Ghibli screening event going on at the IFC in NYC over the next few weeks.
If you live in NYC and you’re a Studio Ghibli fan (or any semblance of a cinema fan at all, seriously) you owe it to yourself to see these masterpieces in 35mm for what may actually be the only chance in your life you have to do so. In fact, Only Yesterday and Ocean Waves have never been screened before in the United States!
I’ll be going to all of these showings most likely (and perhaps some others as well):
Sunday December 18th at 3:20pm - Nausicaa
Sunday Dec 18th at 7:30pm - Kiki’s Delivery Service
Saturday December 24th at 1:10pm - Porco Rosso
Saturday December 24th at 3:00pm - Spirited Away
Wednesday December 28th at 9:35pm - My Neighbors the Yamadas
Friday December 30th at 9:30pm - Castle in the Sky
Saturday December 31st at 2:20pm - Ocean Waves
Sunday January 1st at 7:50pm - Whisper of the Heart
Saturday January 7th at 3:00pm - Pom Poko
Saturday January 7th at 7:55pm - Only Yesterday
